Rolling Over

Hudson rolled over last Sunday! Greg and I both got to see him do it. He tucks that one arm under and slowing leans into it. It's a slow process and I'm sure he hasn't a clue what exactly he's doing. At any rate, it's a milestone that we are proud of :)

I'm getting nervous about our roadtrip home for the holidays. It'll be interesting. Hudson is finally sleeping a lot better so I'm hoping we drive straight throught the night.
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

Little Monster

Hudson went in for his first set of shots yesterday. I think he did better than I.
Prior to the shots they weighed & measured him. He's 13.9lbs & 23 inches long! What a little chub! :P

Happy Halloween

A little late- but I thought I'd still post it. :)

Hudson's First Month

I'm not doing very well with posting these days- I'm just slightly busy with Hudson :) Nonetheless, I'm still finding time for photos! Here's the first month's collection. Many of you may have already seen this.

Week 38

I thought I better post this since I'm not sure how much longer he'll hold out. They did a nonstress test yesterday at the doctors office and I'm having mild contractions 8 min. apart- yippi. I'm hoping that he may still hold out for October 1st. Who knows, my doctor and N.P. don't think I'll make it past next week- but you never know.
I'm done with work after friday- thank goodness- I need a break. If he doesn't arrive this weekend then I'll have next week to finish up things around the house. It would be wonderful to have that time next week- our house is so disorganzied because of the floors.

9/15/07

New Floors

I know, I know, it's a little late to be ripping apart out house. We ordered flooring back in June and it FINALLY came in. We scheduled for the contractors to come out last week to install it and they didn't show up. However, they did arrive on Saturday, and they have started to lay the flooring! Thank the Lord. We can't even walk downstairs without shoes on, for fear of splinters. It's crazy to be living in such chaos, and not knowing when I'm going to pop.

Week 37

We hired a Doula! Her name is Julie, and she's the best! It was funny how we found her. First off, a Doula is a women caregiver. They support you through the birthing process. Kind of like a coach at a sports event. I want to go natural (if possible) and the benefits of having a Doula as support can sometimes lessen the chances of medical intervention. Greg is confident and happy in the decision. I wanted to get one, but the whole interviewing and meeting one I liked seemed like to much work, especially since I'm due so soon. Not to mention they can be expensive. It just so happened Julie ended up teaching our Infant CPR class a few weeks ago. She was great, and a Doula! She's knowledgeable, sweet, and fits our personalities. Another wonderful thing, is that she will come to me. So if Greg's out of town or working she will come to the house and help me. I think this is a huge relief for Greg since he works so far away.

My little Louisville Slugger

I received a surprise in the mail last week! It was a little Louisville Slugger shirt and bib for our little man. It's VERY CUTE. Thanks, Aunt Sally! :)

9/3/07

36 Weeks

36 weeks and counting down! My doctor has informed me that I'll be fullterm on sunday 9/9. Which means he can arrive anytime after and he'll be fine. It seems he's already starting to drop down some-I'm hoping an end is in sight.

Anniversary

Last night we ate year old wedding cake. Sounds gross, I know. I have to admit, it was actually really good. The sugar paste leave still looked amazing too. Although, I think the sugar rush hit the baby before it me.

6.7lbs at Week 35

The ultrasound on wednesday went great! It measured him weighing approximately 6.7lbs. He's growing just fine. My belly is still a few weeks smaller than it should be- but my doctor blamed it on my torso length. Ha ha.

8/28/07

Week 35

5 more weeks to go! I called the doctor yesterday due to some pain in my left side. I'm at the point where I don't know what aches and pains are normal and what ones I should call the doctor about. Nonetheless, she said the pain was just him and the position of his legs. She does want me to come back on wednesday for another ultrasound. I guess my big belly isn't big enough. I'm sure all is fine, and it's one more chance for us to take a peek at him while in utero. My tummy measures 33 week but I'm 35 weeks. So we'll see. I'm not to worried, I'm gaining weight and I'm sure he is as well.

8/24/07

Wonderful Surprise

I received a little package in the mail yesterday and inside were handmade baby booties. What a wonderful surprise! They were a gift from from my mom's cousin in Texas. Thanks, Karen! These booties are just too cute! :)

8/12/07

Week 33

I've made it to week 33 and living in sweatspants! :p

8/10/07

The madness begins...

As the fall season approaches .... so do crazy people, & football. It exhausts me to think about it. We recieved the little LSU outfit as gift from some friends of ours. I'm sure it'll be one of the first things Greg puts the little guy in. I can't believe the season starts the end of this MONTH!

8/6/07

31 Weeks

So I cut my hair off last week, and I turned 32 weeks pregnant on August 5th. He's definately moving up- sleeping is beyond difficult due to the nighttime kicking. I can't imagine another 55 days of growing - I'll be ready to pop by then.

7/27/07

Changing Table & Crib

So the part finally arrived! Took forever, but we are pleased. Greg was up late wednesday night putting it together. We are now set with the Crib and Changing table/Dresser.

7/23/07

Week 30

7 months, 30 weeks, 212 days pregnant. To think, I still have 10 more weeks to go. Greg and I spent our weekend enjoying time together. We went out to the Aquarium in Norfolk/VA Beach, saw Harry Potter in the IMAX, ate lunch on the boardwalk. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable time.

My doctor appointments are every two weeks now. In addition to all the doctor stuff, we are starting our prenatal classes this coming weekend. Then next Friday we're meeting with a pediatrician in Chester - I'm hoping we like her because she's 5 minutes up the road.

Week 28 - July 8th photo

So the little guy continues to grow... and grow. I'm certainly not complaining about his growth, but I have to complain a little about the icky acid relux that has reveiled itself this last trimester. It's almost unbearable. It seems that anything and everything will do it- I try to eat small portions often rather than big meals. Nonetheless, thank the Lord for Tums!
Sunday, July 22nd, I'll be 30 Weeks!!! 10 more to go :)

7/8/07

Well, the news is in and we have decided upon a name.... but you'll have to settle for information from our last doctor visit. Going into the follow-up sonogram, Christina and I were both a bit shaky. We were greeted by another foreign face who was not nearly as friendly and personable as the previous nurse technician. She was able to capture some good profile images from the side and gave us the opportunity to see frontal facial images, but after that brief period the technician was all business.... probing and measuring, probing and measuring, inserting a slick one-liner, probing and measuring.... and then leaving the room with the fate of our baby held within the data and pictures in her hand. After about 5 minutes which felt like 5 hours, doctor doom came through the door. Judging from her previous demeanor when she laid the darkest of prognosis upon our child, the situation did not look good; however, with a dramatic pause that would win a Hollywood actress an Oscar, she finally informed us of the good news... our little man has resumed normal development and the previous cyst has begun to drain. With a smile on her face we had yet to experience, she ecstatically proclaimed, "See, I told you he would correct himself!"

6/27/07

Week 26

By the time I get up in the morning, get ready, drive to work, walk a few blocks, ride the elevator to my office floor, I'm ready for a nap! It's unreal how exhausted these extra 18lbs make me feel. It's all worth it for sure, I'm just disappointed they don't write these kind of detail in the books. :P

Crib - Mod Bedding Collection

The Crib is finally assembled! Now we're just waiting on the replacement part for the dresser/changing table. What a process. I still have a bit more to do once we get the dresser in. The room is pretty white - but we still have some time if we want to paint.

6/19/07

Week 25 - Growing like a Weed.

These days, it appears I'm constantly growing. I wake up and another maternity outfit doesn't fit :P Now I understand the versatility of owning a MuuMuu - they grow with you :)

Our little one is contantly kicking and buzzing around these days. He wakes up, beating his drum every night around 9pm- he's crazy! I'm just praying his night time partying doesn't become a normal routine. :) Although, I'm sure it will to some extent.

We had a hospital tour scheduled for sunday. Greg was unable to go- due to work- but I went ahead and went. I'll make another appt so he can see the place another time. I was the only women there without a husband :( but that's o.k. The hospital is beautiful! The labor rooms are nice and big. I think our biggest issue may be getting there. The hospital is St. Mary's in the city and it's about 45 mintues from the house! Eeeeks. It is suppose to be one of the best hopsitals for babies.

Graduation 2007

Flowers from Mom & Dad for Graduation. What a Wonderful surprise! They are just beautiful!

I finally Graduated! It just took me a bit longer than most :)

Week 24 - 18lbs - Oh, Lord!!!

I had my weekly appt this morning. 18lbs total! Ahhhh! I'm doing well with the 1 lb a week thing, but somedays I feel like I could eat the whole refrigerator :)

5/18/07

Bahamas

We had a wonderful relaxing cruise. We visited Freeport, Nassau, and spent a day just laying by the pool. It was great! We swam with dolphins in Freeport- Awesome! - do it if you get the chance!

Photo I took of Atlantis Paradise Island. The bridge between the two towers is a hotel suite. It averages 25k a night. The guide told us Michael Jackson and Oprah have stayed in it.

4/30/07

18 Weeks

I'm 18 weeks huge and feeling better than ever! I haven't felt this good since pre-pregnancy. We've decided to take a cruise to the Bahamas next week! It's our first REAL vacation other than the honeymoon. We normally dedicate our vacation time to visiting family up north. I can't wait to get away! I'm ready to get my fat butt on a boat and get some R&R. We're driving down to Jacksonville next thursday. I hope the weather is nice and enjoyable. What spontaneous people we are! :P Ha!

Amazon Purchase

So my amazon purchase came saturday! I was so excited to watch it Sunday night. They used the 3-d, and 4-d imaging to capture never seen before footage of the developing fetus. It was truely amazing! :) Now I know why I was so tired those first few months!

4/17/07

16 Weeks

We're anxiously awaiting the first kick :) 16-22 weeks.
I have an appt tomorrow. It's the last one before we find out the gender of our little girl :P Little Boy or Girl, we'll be happy- we just pray for a healthy baby. I've been staying clear of the asbestos, unpastarized cheeses, and everything else- so I think we're safe :)

4/2/07

14 Weeks

The butterbean is growing. I poofed outward a few inches.

Monument Avenue 10k

The Race was awesome! What a beautiful day! Greg ran most of it, but came back to finish it out powerwalking with me. What a sweetie! We completed it in an hour, & 20min. The race was to benefit the VCU Massey Cancer Center, and this year they had the most people ever, 24,000! There we just people everywhere, but it made for a great time! :) We'd like to do it again next year.

3/25/07

Heartbeat

At my Appointment on friday I was able to record the heartbeat on my cellphone. It came across well until I tried to get it off my phone. I used my digital camera video recorder to tape my cellphone playing. Next time, I'll just bring along the video recorder :P

Idiotic Things People Say to Pregnant Women

Idiotic Things People Say to Pregnant Women

"How's the postpartum depression going?" - 8 months pregnant

"Baby, can I get your number?" - 8 months pregnant

"She's gaining weight in such a strange place" - 8 months pregnant

"Make sure you get a picture of the baby coming out. I hung mine over the mantel." - 9 months pregnant

"Can you let us know exactly when the baby is going to be born so we can make plans?" - 9 months pregnant

"Are you scared you'll die during the delivery? - two weeks overdue

This time around...

"Are you hoping for a boy so you'll have a pair?" - 6 months pregnant

"Are you still with your babies' daddies?" - 7 months pregnant

"You finally look pregnant in your face!" - 8 months pregnant

"Are you just back from leave?" - 8 and 1/2 months pregnant

"How many are you going to have?" - 8 and 1/2 months pregnant

I found these rather amusing and stupid. Check out more stupid stuff people say to pregnant women at: The Poop : The Chronicle Baby Blog

Paw Prints

I've been designing canvas prints on the side in my spare time (hardly any of that anymore) The designs are done from a photo of the family pet. Below is an OscarPrint

Yorkshire Terrier

Oscar is 4 Months Old!

Oscar is now 4 months and growning in to a Monster, at 3.3lbs. He's a ball of fire, but we love him dearly. The cats seem to be taking to him, in there own little ways too. Dexter showing love through the display of boxing moves to the head. While, Piney's display of effection comes in more of a hissing manner. Of course, that doesn't stop Oscar, he loves her even more.

8 Weeks Pregnant

Feeling slightly bloated and gassy... I've managed to attach my 8 week pregnant photo :P

161 Beats Per Minute!

I had my first doc appointment last friday. Greg picked me up at work around 11am, and we went up to St. Marys. We were there nearly 2 1/2 hours. I wondered if my new co-workers thought I wasn’t coming back from lunch. For being so early in the pregnancy the ultrasound was easy and quick, it was the other junk that took so long. Most women say the first ultrasound isnt’ very fun- and normally it’s normally not done externally. The nurse just slapped the goo on my tummy and stuck the wand on it, and away we went. Soon a little heartbeat appeared on the monitor. I about peed my pants in amazement and wonder! This little living bean thing has a heart, beating about 161 beats a minute. How AMAZING this all was to both us :) We just always saw ourselves as parents of cats and new little puppy. But now, we will be parents of little baby. We are truely bless from God.

Here's the little beansprout in all his glory.
